Bonnie Rideout grew up with music, especially music from the fiddle. She began playing by ear, and later learned to read music and for a period of time was a violinist, before returning to her beloved fiddle music. Being of Scottish ancestry, she has spent a great deal of time in Scotland, and has worked and studied there. Her love for her native music is evident in her arrangements in this book. They are mostly holiday music, specifically Christmas and New Years, but there is general music included as well.
