Considered to be one of the greatest saxophone players of all time, Julian "Cannonball" Adderley was known for his ability to improvise complex, flowing, melodic solos without ever repeating a line or phrase. The list of artists he performed with reads like a who's who of jazz royalty: Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Nancy Wilson, Joe Zawinul and many others.
This collection features a number of solos meticulously transcribed note-by-note from the music of this phenomenal player. In addition to the classic Adderly music, you'll appreciate the performance notes for each song, as well as the interview with "Nat" Adderley, the brother of Julian and a jazz legend in his own right.
