| | The J.J. Johnson Collection
One of the most important trombone players in jazz is J.J. Johnson. This Indianapolis born musician has performed with some of the biggest names in jazz including Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie and Clark Terry. A composer and arranger as well as a performer, J.J. has written many classic jazz standards, including "Polishin' Brass" and the classic "Rambo", made famous by the Count Basie Big Band.
This excellent folio gathers up 23 of Johnson's best tunes in note-for-note transcriptions for trombone, just as they were performed on the original recordings. A brief biography of this jazz master begins the songbook. This is a collection that no jazz trombonist can afford to pass up!
