Russian composer Sergei Prokofieff is best known for his "Peter and the Wolf" composition, his ballet "Romeo and Juliet" and for his compelling and emotional film scores that were often interpreted into concert extravaganzas. This sonata, from his Opus 56, includes graceful singing melodies set to a moderate and magestic tempo and written for two violins. Spanning four short movements, this is a wonderful composition from this post-romantic era master.
