Joe Henderson is one of the most celebrated tenor saxophone players in the history of jazz. Playing since the age of nine, Joe received his first professional gig in 1962. His talent was immediately evident and he signed with the respected jazz label BlueNote within just a few short months of playing professionally. Numerous Grammy awards and music industry accolades abounded including the heralded triple crown from "Downbeat" magazine which included Jazz Artist of the Year, Jazz Album of the Year ("Lush Life") and Tenor Saxophonist of the Year.
