Piano Sheet Music
Piano sheet music is printed music in musical notation. It comes in a variety of different formats and difficulty levels. The term sheet music refers to both single song "sheets" and to huge music books with a thousand or more songs and to everything in between. Most of the piano sheet music we carry comes in books that measure 9 inches by 12 inches. Other physical formats include 8.5 inches by 11 inches and "paperback" size. Some publishers are even distributing music in electronic format on CD-ROMs. We rate our piano music on a difficulty scale of 1 to 6 with 6 being the most difficult. Level 1 is usually oversized printing, often with the names of the notes written on the notes. Examples of this are EKM music books and EZ Play music books. Level 2 is also usually one note at a time, but the rhythms are more complex like in fake books, or it may even have two music staffs but only change one note at a time. Level 3 music is very simplified two-hand piano. It will have simple chording and rhythms but will regularly use both hands. Most of our level 3 music is labeled Big Note Piano. Level 4 music is just slightly simplified from the original. The common format is Easy Piano. Most Large Print music books are also level 4. Level 5 covers most of the available piano music. P/V/G, which stands for Piano/Vocal/Guitar, is the most common format, while Piano Solo is a close second. Level 6 music is pretty rare. It is usually classical or jazz and requires more technical skill than any of the other music. You can search our collection of piano sheet music by entering your text in the box below.
