"Cheyenne Adventure" takes the listener on an overture-style ride that is reminiscent of the Old West. Underlying rhythms and percussion effects enhance the feeling of western flair throughout the main theme. As a good introduction to minor scales, "Cheyenne Adventure" is a useful teaching piece as well as a welcome addition to your next concert!

Technical Notes: The 1st percussion part is for snare drum, bass drum, and crash cymbals. The 2nd percussion part is marked for suspended cymbal, whip, tambourine, triangle, and maracas.
Note that at measure 11, the countermelody of the alto sax and French horn must be carefully balanced against the trumpet theme. Also notice that, except for snare drum, bass drum and crash cymbals, the notes on beat one of measure 5 are not to be played when taking the Dal Segno.
