This piece comes from Lennie Niehaus, a well-known composer, arranger, adjudicator, and performer. He created this work with the beginning saxophone quartet in mind. The work demonstrates the different textures of each instrument. At the beginning you have a driving rhythm with a hemiola pattern underneath, followed by an expressive section that really shows off the beautiful sounds for which the saxophones are best known. It is a fun work that is perfect for the beginning ensemble.
