| | Balkan Dreams
Here is a flavorful two-movement work by Kees Schoonenbeek who is from the Netherlands and has won numerous awards for his compositions. The piece begins with a beautiful clarinet solo followed by a powerful chorale-like section. Your young ensemble will be challenged in many ways with this piece. Even though this work is for your beginning ensemble, there are some difficult sections that will need some special attention so they are as smooth as the rest of the work. It is a great piece to work on endurance and different meters. You really need to add this to your next concert. Your students an audience will thank you.
