| | John Corigliano - Snapshot: Circa 1909 This string quartet was inspired by a photo of Corigliano's father playing a violin and his uncle playing the guitar. At the time of the photo, his father, John Corigliano was about eight years old. The serious looking child violinist grew up to become the concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic for over a quarter century, and the inspiration for this beautiful piece of music. It was commissioned by the Elements String Quartet and premiered in November 2003 at Merkin Concert Hall in New York City.
Now your string quartet can play it, too.
