This is an easy arrangement for band of the popular song "Final Countdown" as recorded by the group "Europe". The song's modal melody and driving rhythms should make it a hit with young players.

Technical Notes: The flute, French horn and bells parts are optional. The 1st percussion part is marked for ride cymbals, hi-hat, snare drum and bass drum. The 2nd percussion part is marked for tambourine.
Teaching aids for the director:
Good balance is essential to an effective performance. Note that the melody is usually marked at least one dynamic level louder than the accompaniment. Be careful that the accompaniment never covers the melody. If the trumpets cannot be heard clearly where they have the melody alone at measure 1-12, 31-38, 47-48, and 51-62, then the dynamic level of the other instruments should be adjusted.
Careful attention to the percussion parts will add greatly to the overall effect. The percussion 1 part might be played on a drum set, or can be divided between two or three players. The tambourine part should be regarded as optional.
The accents should not be interpreted too literally. Accented notes should be articulated somewhat harder and separated more than notes without accents, but not necessarily played louder.
