| | Howlin' Wolf One of the true innovators of electrified blues rock was a West Point, Mississippi native. The artist's name was Chester Arthur Burnett, who later became known by the moniker Howlin' Wolf. Howlin' Wolf is remembered for his unique electrified blues techniques along with a stage show that contained sexually suggestive dance moves, over the head and behind the back guitar playing, and on-stage entrances via motorcycles. His guitar style and his stage persona have influenced some of the biggest names in rock & roll including the Rolling Stones, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Robbie Robertson and many others. This first-rate collection examines the guitar styles of Howlin' Wolf, along with his influential lead guitarist Hubert Sumlin. Included are examinations of some of Howlin' Wolf's greatest songs. The music featured includes note-for-note transcriptions along with tablature, performance suggestions, and notes on the history of each song. A brief biography of this legendary blues performer begins the folio.
