Francis Rocco Prestia has earned a place among the all-time great bass stylists. As a member of Tower Of Power, Rocco set a standard of funk playing that bassists still aspire to achieve. Here, accompanied by TOP members Dave Garibaldi and Jeff Tamelier, along with original member Lenny Pickett, he performs a burning set of seven TOP classics, including "Oakland Stroke", "Soul Vaccination", "Squib Cakes", and "What Is Hip?", plus tunes from his acclaimed solo album. He also talks about creating a groove, his early days with TOP, and more.
Also included is a 30 minute conversation/lesson with Rocco, during which he talks about developing bass parts, his influences, and his approach to bass technique, including his use of ghost notes and muting. Plus, he demonstrates many of his classic bass lines.
