The unit operates on two AAA batteries (included with your purchase!) with an estimated battery life of 100 hours. All that power in a unit that will fit in your shirt pocket! This unit measures 4 inches wide and 2.5 inches high, and about .5 inch thick.
An external microphone makes it easy to tune in noisy environments - even when other people are playing around you. Just clip the microphone onto your instrument and plug it into the input jack on the tuner. If your instrument already has a built in pick up (like an electric guitar), you don't need the microphone, you can just plug directly into the tuner.
