Our FolkRoots brand hourglass mountain dulcimer has a black walnut body coupled with a Sitka spruce soundboard which creates a fat, mellow tone with great resonance and excellent note separation. This dulcimer features our galax back design which keeps your legs from dampening the sound. The bubinga accents compliment the other woods. Plus, the bubinga protects against strumming scratches on your fingerboard. The "F" heart tone holes are very complementary and complete this fine instrument.
