Playing in a jazz combo puts a greater emphasis on improvisation than playing in a jazz ensemble, and "Standard Of Excellence Jazz Combo Session" is available here to start you off on the right foot. With a lot of practice you'll be joining a jazz combo with confidence and ease.
A CD is included with this book. Mix "A" of the CD includes a rhythm session accompaniment along with a trumpet playing the melody part and an alto saxophone playing the harmony. Mix "B" includes the rhythm section accompaniment only, no melody or harmony. You can play along with your own solo improvisation or as part of any instrumental group choice.
