Dan Crary is one of the world's greatest "flatpicking" guitar players. With this book (and the compact disc which is included with the book), he introduces you to his method of playing "flatpick" style guitar. All of the musical examples in this book are shown in standard notation and in guitar tablature. The book is divided into six logical sections: 1 - Playing Accompaniment; 2 - Creating Breaks To Songs; 3 - Creating Instrumental Arrangements Of Traditional Tunes; 4 - Cross-Picking; 5 - Special Guitar Techniques, Licks & Runs; and 6 - Repertoire Building.
If you're an intermediate guitarist that wants to be an advanced guitarist, this is the kind of book you should be working through. An informal writing style and tons of songs make this variety of "knowledge and technique enhancement" a great deal of fun.
