In this fairly easy suite, Jan Van Der Roost has used four authentic Finnish folk tunes. The work starts with some noble, almost meditative melodies. Gradually the tempi become faster, resulting in a brilliant and cheerful folk dance. The melody regularly goes from one band section to another, so that the timbre remains varied, and there is not any possibility of monotony. All in all, this is an attractive suite that can be played by a large number of bands.

The bass part is labeled "Double Bass". The keyboard percussion part is labeled "Mallet Percussion" and is for glockenspiel, vibraphone and xylophone. The 1st percussion part is for suspended cymbal, triangle, bass drum, tambourine, snare drum and crash cymbal. The 2nd percussion part is for suspended cymbal, sleigh bells, tambourine, snare drum, small tom tom and bass drum.
