| | Appalachian Suite
Paul Murtha has been composing/arranging for the United States Army Band for many years. If his arrangements are good enough for the President of the United States, then they should be just fine for your beginning ensemble. This short suite is a wonderful collection of three American folk songs. Each is played once and then there is a short break before the next one begins. It is the perfect way to introduce movements and musical pauses to your beginning ensemble. The tunes are not very difficult, and Murtha has arranged them so they sound very full and complete. It is a nice collection to add to your next concert. With this set, we also include a demonstration CD which includes this chart and several others. It will be a useful tool for you and your ensemble.
