The "Silvana" Variations were written by Weber in 1811 in one day, during a joint concert trip with the clarinetist of the Munich Court Chapel, Heinrich Joseph Baermann. They were extracted from the critical editions in the "Complete Works of Carl Maria von Weber", edited by Knut Holtstrater. A preface in English and German is included.
