"Above First Position" will help develop the necessary foundation for the further study of higher positions on the violin. Much of the material focuses on the third position. The other positions (2nd, 4th, and 5th) are equally as important and difficult, but after thorough study of the 3rd, it is much easier to grasp the concepts of the others. This book does not necessarily offer a new approach, but combines well used technical exercises and recreational material in one volume to ease learning the higher positions.
