This is an easy arrangement for band of two songs, "We Go Together" and "Greased Lightnin'", from the Braodway musical "Grease". This Johnnie Vinson arrangement offers you an excellent opportunity to introduce your young band members to the style of "rock n' roll".

Technical Notes: The oboe, French horn and bells parts are optional for this band set. The 1st percussion part is for ride cymbal, hi-hat, snare drum, and bass drum. The 2nd percussion part is for tambourine.
Teaching aids for the director: Numerous articulation markings have been included to enhance the style. As a general rule, the melody should be articulated much as if it were being sung. The "^" accent should always be played short.
Good balance is essential to an effective performance. Note that the melody is usually marked at least one dynamic level louder than the accompaniment. Be careful that the accompaniment never covers the melody. Never hesitate to adjust dynamic markings if necessary to improve balance.
Careful attention to the percussion parts will add greatly to the overall effect. The percussion 1 part might be played on a drum set, or can be divided between two or three players. The tambourine and bell parts should be regarded as optional, but will add to the effect of the arrangement if used.
