| | Ancient Echoes: A Modal Fantasy
"Ancient Echoes" is a masterful composition by James L. Hosay that uses ancient Greecian and Persian musical modes to create a contemporarily styled piece of music. The modes of ancient Greece and Persia used a semi-tone scale as opposed to our half-tone chromatic scales, so there is definitely a different feel to this composition. A piece such as this demands that every band member pay strict attention to every note which helps develop their sight-reading skills.

Technical Notes: There is an additional optional part labelled "Flexible Bass Line" that can be used by electric bass, keyboard or other bass clef instrument. The mallet percussion part calls for marimba and either vibes or bells, and the percussion part calls for suspended cymbal, tom or snare drum and bass drum.
