The two easiest changes you can make to improve your tone quality are getting a high quality mouthpiece and ligature. A good quality ligature like the Rovner Ligatures can make a you play more consistently and with better tone.
The Rovner Ligatures come in two models (for mouthpieces that are not made out of metal) - Dark and Light. The Dark model performs like a "string" ligature. It gives a big, centered tone with ease of control and enhanced playability. The Light model is a little more open sounding, with a little bit more edge.
If you don't know which one to get, we recommend the Dark for standard use, and the Light for jazz styles.
This ligature does come with a mouthpiece cap.
