This informative and beautiful book will be a real treasure for your music collection. As the title says, it is a book of Portuguese "Fados", songs dating back to the 18th century. Included here are 26 fados, representing a variety of styles, that have been made famous by a variety of famous fadistas (fado singers). They are arranged for voice and guitar, and contain both Portuguese lyrics and English translations. This is much more than just a book of songs, though. It is a book rich in Portuguese history, with beautiful photographs, and discussions of the songs. It will make you want to pack your bags and take off on a vacation to Portugal.
The CD, which is included, contains recordings of every song, performed by the original artists.
