These "Classical Studies" come from a collection of flute studies drawn together by Frans Vester with the intention of covering a wide variety of styles. They are presently part of most every flautist's repertoire. This edition makes the collection available to recorder players. Irmhild Beutler and Sylvia C. Roan have transcribed the studies that are suitable for alto recorder. These studies span the period between 1700 and 1900 and feature pieces from the baroque, classical and romantic periods.
