Antonio Vivaldi created his groundbreaking and magnificent "La Stravaganza" to show the violin in all its diverse and extravagant forms, building on the great concerti. Utilizing numerous violin techniques, Vivaldi created a wild excursion through the violin’s capabilities. We still relish these pieces today, as his slow movements contrast with the outer movements of the concerti. This first volume (comprising the first two concerti in the set) gives you a great introduction to this true Vivaldi extravaganza!
This book/CD package consists of a printed music score and two compact discs which include three versions of each song from the book. The first is a complete version with soloist, that you can practice along with. The second has a full stereo chamber orchestra accompaniment, minus the soloist, that you will use for performances. The third is an accompaniment version that has been slowed down by twenty percent, for the ease of practice.

There are 2 CDs included with this product. The tracks on the CDs are the same, except that the music on CD 2 was recorded at a slower tempo. You'll find CD 2 really helpful as you work your way up to full tempo. On each CD, tracks 1 - 14 are demonstration versions that include both the violin solo as well as the orchestral accompaniment. Track 15 is a tuning note track. Tracks 16 - 29 are performance tracks that were recorded without the violin solo part. You'll use tracks 16 - 29 for your own public appearances.
